Ayrshire (pronounced “Air‑Shire” meaning “Watercourse” or “Strong River”) is an Alberta-based investment management firm that has a focused strategy of investing in real property and related venture capital. Our firm originated in the late 1990s as a family office for our Executive Chairman, Phil Swift, who is also a co-founder of ARC Financial—Canada’s largest energy-focused private equity firm and has grown into a disciplined, institutional platform built on partnership, integrity, and performance. We invest in real assets and operating businesses where our people, insights, and relationships create enduring value.

Behind the Name.
Named for the historic county in southwest Scotland where our Executive Chairman was born, Ayrshire embodies the values of its namesake — honesty, courage, and hard work. These Scottish roots run deep in our culture and guide how we invest: with discipline, humility, and purpose.

Ayrshire is a private investment firm focused on delivering strong, risk-adjusted returns first and foremost. We get especially excited when those returns can be accompanied by meaningful social and environmental outcomes. In certain strategies—most notably our Housing Impact Funds—we deliberately allocate capital to opportunities where attractive private-equity returns align with measurable community outcomes.
